SUCA's February Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club in Wesley Chapel. We are honored to have Mr. Wilton Simpson, Candidate for Florida Senate District 11 as our guest speaker for the evening. Mr. Simpson will speak on the 7 steps he feels we must take to reach economic prosperity. Mr. Simpson has been endorsed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, U.S. Representative Rich Nugent, The Honorable Ken Littlefield, The Honorable Allen Altman, Pasco County School Board Member and The Honorable Bob White, Former Pasco County Sheriff. Registration and cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m. Cost is $25.00 per person and includes the Bourbon Street Buffet (grilled seasoned tilapia with shrimp and crawfish topped with lemon butter, grilled chicken topped with ham, cheese and mushrooms, fire roasted pork tenderloin with wild mushroom sherry sauce, jambalaya over dirty rice, chunky tomatoes with Creole spices, griddled cheese grit cake with shrimp & New Orleans barbecue sauce, roasted vegetables, house salad, dinner rolls and bread pudding). IMPORTANT: Advance reservations are required by phone, fax or email. Reservations must be received by the SUCA office no later than Tuesday, January 31, 2012. No-shows and late cancellations will be billed, as SUCA pays for all dinners guaranteed. There will be a $5.00 surcharge for all walk-ins. Friday, February 24, 2012: Adult CPR, First Aid & AED Training Class

SUCA will be hosting a Red Cross Adult CPR, FIRST AID & AED training class on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 1pm to 4pm at Ring Power, 10421 Fern Hill Dr. in Riverview. Registration begins at 12:30pm. This training class meets OSHA Guidelines for First Aid Programs and combines lecture, interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a variety of environments and hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills. Upon completion of the course, Red Cross certification cards will be issued and are valid for 2 years. First Aid: Participants will learn to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies. CPR Adult: Participants will learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults. AED: Participants will learn how to use Automatic External Defibrillators. Course Instructor will be Roger Greenleaf of Safety Compliance & Training. Space is limited to the first 20 attendees. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis. SUCA reserves the right to cancel the seminar if a 10 person minimum is not met. Cost for SUCA members is $25 and cost for non-members is $35.00.
